Mood: waiting for wind

Windsurfing: Cooden
Wind Direction: W
Wind Stength: F6
Surf / Sea State: waves
Air Temperature: warm
Sea Temperature: warm
Weather: windsurf weather
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Had to decide between 4.7m day at Camber or 5.7m day at Cooden based on spies texting me info .... Gutted made a decision (& that's definately worth a mention ) and we opted to join PaulP and the masses down at Cooden for a potentially more relaxing session

DOH .... arrived much later than planned, but looked good for me to try the 5.6m Remedy on the 3S 97 so rigged and suited and noticed a few people coming in to change down ... DOUBLE DOH ... went for it anyway, one run out and back, then tweak with a bit more outhaul and go again ... had some runs with flatter set and was okay, but possibly at top end of board & sail ranges as the wind filled in proper ....

Rigging session .... time to try the Pocket Wave 78 with Manic 4.5m, quick rig and give that a go, having left the 3S / 5.6m rigged on beach in case it dropped again. By now the tide was up to the groynes and the wind was notching up a few knots and the rip was coming into the equation ... got out couple times, did some jumps of sorts, apparently quite high, but never felt right today on the smaller kit ... felt like the rip was playing a part but in truth it has to be me being to heavy with the back foot and this being compounded by the rip taking the back of the board downwind (wind with current on incoming tide).

Sent gutted out on my kit for his opinion, seems it is definately me at fault so have to focus more on putting weight through the front foot, easier said than done after years of heavy back foot technique against 70cm formula fins and with high volume & wide tail boards

For me it was a shame the wind didn't drop a few knots so i could go back out on the 3S 97 / 5.6m Remedy combo as this felt pretty good to me ... i considered plugging the 4.5m on the 3S but it was quite bumpy by then and i figured it'd be a bit bouncy, though could have been proved wrong maybe ...

All that effort to have a sail with PaulP and he'd nobbed off to town to buy a wedding suit, opting to try and catch a late pm session instead ....

Head (& the aching body?) said Cooden was better option for today, feet are telling me I should have gone to Camber ... poxy pebbles .... and I'd have got a longer/later session at Camber as high tide is much less of an issue than along the other shingly South Coast beaches ...

Ho hum .... 2 days on the bounce ... and had a good one last saturday too so no point moaning about it being too windy ... just gotta properly get to grips with the small stuff .... ... overall still pretty happy
